Welcome to EMN Meeting on Smart and Multifunctional Material 2017!
The EMN Meetings grew out of a small workshop series that began in 2008 at a traditional villa in Orlando, Florida. Over the next three years, six additional successful workshops were organized on various focus topics in materials science, and grouped under the title of “Villa Conference” in honor of the original 2008 Orlando meeting. The Villa Conference series has grown rapidly beyond the traditional villa setting, continuing to attract highly-quality contributions from members of the international scientific and engineering communities. In 2012 the first Conference with a broader theme of Energy, Materials and Nanotechnology was held. The EMN Meetings now include five annual gatherings: EMN Fall (Orlando), EMN Spring (Las Vegas), EMN Summer (Cancun), EMN East (Beijing), and EMN Open (Chengdu).
To continue its success of last events at Berlin 2016, the EMN Meeting on Smart and Multifunctional Material 2017 will take place from June 24 to 28, 2017, Rome, Italy. It will bring an opportunity for leading academic scientists, researchers and decision makers in the field of Material Science to get their latest discoveries acknowledged on the global arena. The EMN Meeting on Smart and Multifunctional Material, that will continue for four days and will take you to the voyage of knowledge providing you an opportunity to both collaborations and learn about the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted in this broad field of Material Technology from all over the world. The conference aims to shed light on the transnational nature of Smart and Multi functional Material research, with emphasis on both the basic science as well as its applications in industry and academia. Major scientific advancement in Smart and Multifunctional Material Technology helped in solving many of the complicated issues in Nondestructive Evaluation for Energy Systems, Multifunctional Material for Sensors and Smart Structures Technologies, Luminescent Multifunctional Materials, Multifunctional Shape Memory Polymers, Smart and Multifunctional Material in Civil Engineering, Multifunctional Nanocarriers & Biomedical Applications, Industrial and Commercial Applications of Smart Structures Technologies, and General.
The meeting will be a few days of intense collaboration with great social occasions. It will be not only be a time to enjoy the company of fellow researchers in the field, but also a time to have fun with friends and family. Rome is the capital of Italy. It is also the country’s largest and most populated comune and fourth-most populous city in the European Union by population within city limits. The city is located in the central-western portion of the Italian Peninsula, within Lazio (Latium), along the shores of Tiber River. Rome is a city famous for its numerous fountains, built in all different styles, from Classical and Medieval, to Baroque and Neoclassical. The city has had fountains for more than two thousand years, and they have provided drinking water and decorated the piazzas of Rome.
Looking forward and welcome all of you with my great pleasure and honor to the EMN Meeting on Smart and Multifunctional Material 2017, Rome, Italy.
