Prof. Roger Lewis
University of Wollongong, Australia

Title: Opening and closing the terahertz gap

Roger Lewis is a physicist. His current research interests focus on the optical and electronic properties of matter at terahertz frequencies. His experiments involve physical extremes of low temperatures, high magnetic fields and high pressures.

Professor Lewis works at the University of Wollongong, Australia. Previously Head of the School of Physics there, he is currently the Associate Dean Research in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Science. He also serves on the College of Experts of the Australian Research Council.

Professor Lewis is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Physics and a Fellow of the Royal Microscopical Society. Also an accomplished university teacher, Lewis has been recognised by an Australian College of Educators Quality Teaching Award and a Carrick Citation.

“Terahertz Physics” by R. A. Lewis (Cambridge University Press, 2013) has recently been translated and published in Chinese (National Defence Industry Press, 2015).
